How does your office help a patient understand their costs for Services, payment plan options, or use of their dental insurance? Braces are an important investment and we want to make sure your orthodontic care is affordable. Our office offers complimentary consultations that include an examination, x-rays, and a discussion of recommended treatment. One of our primary goals is to help everyone afford the care they need without straining their finances. Before any treatment begins we carefully review with all Patients: their needs, the costs of services, and any financial options they have available to them that we can help to facilitate. |

How do you educate your patients about the treatments they need and how to keep problems from reoccurring? We conduct a treatment consultation to explain all aspects of your treatment in detail. We also provide a complete diagnosis regarding the nature of your problem, a written summary of the findings, and a details plan that outlines your treatment - along with their goals and how we can achieve the desired results that will last a lifetime. |

What do you do when there are multiple treatment options available for a patient's dental condition? We make sure that all Patients completely understand all of their options, and the pros & cons of each, then we support them in making the best decision for their specific needs. We encourage questions from both patients & parents - and make the time needed to answer them completely. |

What labs do you use for your restoration services (e.g. Crowns & Bridges) and do you provide patients with a choice of labs? In orthodontics, we have several options of materials that we can use. At our office - we only use the industry's leading technology & materials. |

What kind of sedation & comfort techniques do you utilize? Anytime a service will potentially include any patient discomfort, we ensure that the patient remains relaxed & comfortable so their visit is an enjoyable one. |

Do you treat children and, if so, how do you help them feel comfortable? Absolutely - we provide a fun and friendly environment that puts children at ease. We also thrive to make their out-of-office experience enjoyable by providing fun opportunities, such as colored bands. We recommend that children be checked by us at the time their permanent teeth begin to erupt, so that we can detect any deficiencies in the child's teeth formation. This usually occurs between 7 years of age. Dr. harnick has a special interest in treating young children since some of the best orthodontic corrections are possible when using growth & development. |

Medical Education
Dr. Harnick attended the University of Maryland where he received his dental degree and the University of the Pacific for his orthodontic specialty degree.
Special Training
He then attended, after a successful career as a general dentist, the University of the Pacific for an additional 2 years and was awarded a Masters in the Science of Dentistry (MSD) with a specialist certificate in orthodontics. He has also attended a mini residency at UCLA in sleep breathing disorders with a focus on oral appliances for Obstructive Sleep Apnea. He has also lectured nationally on Invisalign treatment.
Personal Background
Dr. Harnick has lived in Albuquerque for 33 years. He is married to Connie. He has a stepson, Matthew, who graduated from UNM Medical school and is now completing his residency in family practice. His daughter, Kari, is studying to be an orthodontist and will be joining the practice in the future. Dr. Harnick is an avid tennis player.

Dr. Harnick maintains a professional membership in the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Academy of General Dentistry, The American Orthodontic Society, the American Academy of Gnathological Orthopedics, the New Mexico Dental Association, the Albuquerque Dental Society and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
